On Agarwood
One of the most sought after ingredients for perfume is Oud. Oud is the scent of a tree known as Agarwood. Its dark resin is essential for the perfume industry. But it only occurs in about 7% of the wood which makes Oud a very rare and expensive substance.
Already in ancient times and in various cultures Oud has been used to cure illnesses and as a perfume. In the Arabic world chips of this precious wood can still be bought on the market. They are slowly burned, the smoke spreads out, and serves as a natural room scent.
The French perfumery «Fragrance du Bois» (French for «scents of wood» ) specializes in scents made of Oud. But they are very conscious about the environment and they maintain their own Agarwood plantation. For every tree they harvest, they plant 3 new ones.
They also created a directory of the perfumes containing Oud, claiming it was the largest that exists.
And the Rhino?
The Rhino’s full name is «Rhinoceros» and it lives in the Agarwoods.
Well, this is partially true.
«Rhinoceros» is a perfume created by Zoologist, a perfumer from Canada. And, «Rhinoceros» contains this famous Oud and some more exciting ingredients as the website reveals.

Zoologist deliver on their promise since «Rhinoceros» has about 20 animal friends such as «Slosh » and «Rhinoceros», «Camel», and they even revived «Dodo».
Apart from the ingredients and the names, the story about each perfume is remarkable. They are worth reading.
