The scent «Calèche» is a creation of the Maison Hermès.
THE BEGINNINGS
Hermès who nowadays offers perfume, shoes, bags and luxurious clothes was founded in Paris in 1837.
The founder of this imperium was a saddler by the name of Thierry Hermès who was born in the German city of Krefeld in 1801. In 1837 the company’s business were saddles and bridle for well to do Parisians.
Later in the 19th century Thierry’s son would start selling high-end suitcases and bags which became more important when railways and cars gradually replaced horse carriages.

«CALÈCHE»
«Calèche»is the French word for coach. Given the House of Hermès started with saddles and bridle the name is quite suitable for one of their perfumes.
The nose behind the scent is Guy Robert and the perfume’s accords are
- Woody
- White floral
- Citrus
- But also powdery
«Calèche» was the first scent for women Hermès released. They claim that it is lively and modern, fresh and feminine.
The perfume is still available.
