We have been talking about SIGNATURE a lot in the last months. Now, we are ready to reveal the concept behind the very first model of these precious boxes we will launch.

If you have been reading here for a while you know that Stilettissimo is not about Barbie and our shoes are far from girlish.

A LESSON ABOUT BARBIE

Yes, Barbie is foremost associated with pink. She was «born» in 1959 and took the catwalk of the House of Mattel by storm. She still carries on conquering the world.  Every year new models of her are released.

Barbie is a doll, no doubt and as a toy she doesn’t serve to much more than being dressed and redressed. How boring!

However, she also is a symbol of a woman who walks her own path. She possessed a car and a house of her own, went to vacation where she wanted at a time when women were not even allowed to open a banking account without the consent of their husband or father.

We don’t know much about Ken but apparently her being self-determined did not shy him away or hinder the two to be in a relationship.  This makes Barbie a pioneer.

SIGNATURE

Stilettissimo SIGNATURE models are about attitude, about uniqueness,  and about style.

While our shoes are not designed for plastic Barbies, they are created for real women with the highest standards and uncompromising individuality.

That is why each model is limited to just 200 pairs—ever. Each pair is numbered, akin to a unique piece of artwork.

BARBIE TODAY

Right now, in 2023, Barbie who if she were human would be in her sixties and being retired became a movie star. She never wasted a plastic thought on retiring, but a person in flesh impersonating her, made her star in a blockbuster movie, looking not a day older than in 1959 (We admit, Barbie was born a grown-up person and her beauty will never fade.)

But what is more important than this, is the fact that she shows that style and attitude have nothing to do with the years this world has enjoyed you. Meanwhile, reals women like Dr Jane Goodall or Iris Apfel became models for Barbies. She grew up, so to speak.
