A luxury shoe must fulfil many requirements – at least according to Stilettissimo’s philosophy.

It should feature outstanding design, be created by a highly skilled artisan who uses only first-class materials. And – of course – it must be comfortable.

STAY IN SHAPE

For shoes to keep their original form, we recommend shoe trees. There are different types available for different kinds of shoes.

If you wear sandals, pumps, or ankle boots, you can use an adjustable shoe stretcher or these ‘pads’, which are also very practical when you are travelling. This is what we use.

For boots you should use shoe trees that are made for boots as they keep the boot tops in shape. We use the ones on the image below.

Patent leather shoes do typically not require boot trees as the material is rigid.

Cleaning & Care

We recommend a weekly cleaning of all the shoes you have worn during the week.

Clean the dust and the interior

Use a damp cotton cloth. If you like, you can add a drop of mild soap to the water and carefully wipe the inside of the shoe as well as the upper. Never soak the leather, as this will dry it out and cause it to lose its shape. Finally, clean the outer sole. Once you are done, dry the entire shoe with a soft cloth.

Be especially careful with suede. Do not use water. Instead, use a soft brush. Stains should be removed using a special suede cleaning sponge

Nourishing the upper

Leather is a natural material and needs regular nourishment.

For napa and printed leather, apply a very thin layer of shoe cream, wait a few minutes, and then polish with a dry soft cloth or a soft brush.

Use a transparent shoe cream that is suitable for all colours. If you want to refresh white, white shoe cream is available and can be used from time to time. The same applies for other colours — but in general, we recommend mostly using transparent cream. Be careful not to apply too much; excess cream can clog the pores, making it difficult to achieve a shine.

To polish patent leather, there are special products on the market.

The products mentioned above must not be used on suede or fabric. For those materials, there are special sprays available to protect and refresh them.

Heels and soles

Replacing the outer sole is rare, but possible. If we are talking about your favourite shoe, the investment is absolutely worthwhile.

The material under the heel wears off easily. Luckily, it can be replaced easily and cost-effectively by a good shoemaker. At the same time, they will check and repair the heel covering, if needed.

After this, your shoe will look as good as new.

Luxury always shines

Good care keeps good shoes beautiful. With the right attention, even the most delicate pair can remain a joy to wear — and a pleasure to behold. That is the essence of lasting luxury.
