Names have power.
The name Stilettissimo is not just any name. It encapsulates the entire strategy. It is my compass when it comes to design, quality, and comfort.
I decided upon the name long before I created the first design, and long before I met various manufacturers in order to decide which ones to work with.
Basically, it all started with my shoe size. I wear size EU 34, which equals 1.5 in Great Britain and 4 in the USA. Needless to say, it was difficult for me to find shoes. But I also found that a lot of shoes, regardless of their size or price, were of unsatisfactory quality.
I wanted shoes that are beautiful, some of the styles a little edgy, and at the same time they must be of the highest quality and comfortable.
In other words, I wanted the best and I wanted it now.
So, I set to work.

Although «Stilettissimo» sounds Italian, you will not find it in any dictionary.
However, I wanted a name that points towards footwear and also encapsulates luxury and style.
To me, it was clear from the very beginning that Stilettissimo’s shoes are handcrafted in Italy.
Not only is Italy Switzerland’s southern neighbour, it is also world-renowned for its footwear. The country is home to the best artisans in the world. And, Italian is one of Switzerland’s four official languages.
Stile – tt – issimo
When people look at the name «Stilettissimo», the term «stiletto» jumps to mind which of course has a strong connotation to shoes. The stiletto heels are called like this for a reason: «stiletto» means «dagger» in Italian.
While «stile» is style, «issimo» in Italian is always a superlative. While «bello» is beautiful, «bellissimo» is the most beautiful.
In simpler terms, Stilettissimo ensures – and achieves – the pinnacle of luxury and sophistication.
