What is Luxury?
This is a difficult question that cannot be answered easily.
Luxury is different for everybody as our article about the 3 types of luxury buyers shows. Different people value different things.
Luxury can be opulent but it not necessarily is. Often it is of great simplicity but perfectly crafted and made of the best material. Luxury can be “loud” but more often you find it whispering and still attract your attention. Things that are sold with the predicate “luxury” can have a big name but even a big name can sell you expensive things that melt into something meaningless when looked at closely.
Stilettissimo is a Swiss brand. Switzerland is famous for its (luxury) watches. Some of the most exclusive brands typically create watches of great simplicity and perfection.
But they also know that different people have different tastes. Hence the very same manufacturer might create a watch decorated with precious stones the size of small rocks. Is the simpler version less luxurious than the opulent one or is it the other way round? Neither. Both models have been carefully crafted, with the best material and the same functions.
